Creating environments that invite success

How we organise ourselves in our businesses; the environments we create, will determine the results we achieve - In todays complex, dynamic and challenging environment we need to organise ourselves in a way that develops our inherent capacity to constantly change and adapt.
It is well documented that the traditional concept and structure of organisations, one of top down management, command and control, will probably not cut it in today's business climate.
I work with leaders and their teams to create an environment where there is more likelihood that teams and individuals have an inherent capability and capacity to change; where there is more likelihood that the business strategy becomes reality; and where there is more likelihood that every function or department proactively delivers to the success of the organisation.

| Sue Newton, People Director describes the benefits of paying attention to how we organise ourselves: When I joined Protocol Skills I employed Ruth Smith as a consultant to carry out a review of organisation effectiveness. At the time of the review the organisation was struggling financially and morale & motivation was very low. Colleague turnover was running at 44%.
Ruth carried out a very thorough fact finding exercise across the business and identified key areas that needed to be developed within the areas of culture, organisation structure, training & system support.
With her support we were able to develop a 30. 60 and 90 day plan to put the business on a firm footing. This plan was delivered and immediately and made a noticeable difference. Particularly pleasing was that Ruth's recommendations enabled us to build on the talent in the organisation which had previously been unrecognised. This meant it has been sustainable from within the organisation. Ruth has also helped on an ongoing basis with some executive coaching for newly promoted colleagues and this has been highly beneficial to the individuals & their performance. The organisation has now delivered budgeted profit 2 years running and colleague turnover has reduced to 22% and there is no doubt that Ruth has contributed to that success.
