Teams, more than a group of people
In my experience of working with business teams; one of the key reasons that a team becomes high performing is that the members of the team realise that a team is more than a group of people working together; they are a group of people who have a shared purpose and know they need to hold each other accountable for achieving that purpose. These teams make the development of the team integral to how they achieve their goals. It takes a lot of hard work to create and/or be part of a high performing team – It doesn't just occur, it takes consistent, serious (and fun) considered effort over a period of time. And teams have to keep working at it; the teams who are constantly working on how to be more effective are the ones who will have a better performance.
I work with leaders and teams on their journey to become high performing – where a team can be seen to have high morale and high productivity in an ever-changing environment.
